WOLF PLASTICS: Plastic buckets in a Loop

In cooperation with us and other partners, WOLF PLASTICS has implemented a trend-setting pilot project to give its plastic buckets a second life. Used buckets are recycled, returned to the production process and made into new buckets that have the same high quality.

GIVING BUCKETS A SECOND LIFE

Origins mean a lot to WOLF PLASTICS – and not only their own roots as an Austrian family business: The company cares about the circular economy and the origins of products. As the market-leading manufacturer of plastic packaging in Central and Eastern Europe, WOLF PLASTICS contributes to protecting the environment with its innovative solutions. A trend-setting pilot project is currently under way at WOLF PLASTICS: In cooperation with us and other partners, used buckets are made into new ones that have the same high quality – a great example of circular design in action.

Using resources, protecting the environment

Around 210 employees at three production facilities contribute to the development, production and marketing of more than 400 products. The Austrian plastic buckets manufacturer and pioneer also cares what happens to its products after use. This is why the buckets are recycled in cooperation with partner businesses and returned to the sustainable production process. In short: WOLF PLASTICS give buckets a second life. Used buckets are made into new ones that have the same high quality and the same properties. “Secondary plastic is a valuable raw material to us − we fully intend to keep plastic in the loop instead of letting it go to waste. This saves raw materials and helps protect the environment,” says Georg Hirsch, Managing Partner at WOLF PLASTICS.

R as in recycled

The company’s R bucket contains at least 80 % post-consumer recycled plastic and is just as robust and durable as a bucket made of virgin material. Its innovative raw material blend has sustainable added value, meets the certification criteria of the European Certification of Plastics Recyclers and is 100 % environmentally certified. The R bucket can also be decorated with in-mould labelling, which means its design can be just as attractive and colourful. It is suitable for non-food packaging and available in different sizes. With its “Try it. Like it.” slogan, WOLF PLASTICS appeals to its customers to use packaging made of recycled materials wherever possible.

Buckets to buckets ...

Everyone can do their bit to protect the environment: In our pilot project, people can drop off empty buckets at designated collection points. Then the buckets are sent for recycling: They are shredded, washed, melted and processed into granules. These granules are used for the production of new buckets, which have the same high quality and the same properties as those made from virgin raw materials.
