SPAR: There from the start
SPAR was one of ARA’s founding members in 1993. Ever since then, all packaging placed on the market by the company’s own production facilities or imported by SPAR has been covered by compliance agreements with us. SPAR has been committed to reducing packaging and improving its recyclability since 1971.
FOUNDING MEMBER AND PIONEER
All packaging placed on the Austrian market by SPAR’s own production facilities or imported by SPAR is covered by compliance agreements with us.
A 1971 consumer declaration already documents the group’s commitment to reducing the volume of packaging supplied to households. SPAR has lived up to this promise by taking appropriate prevention, reduction and recycling measures on an ongoing basis. The group is a member of Extended Producer Responsibility schemes to ensure that packaging placed on the market is collected and sent for recovery.
In 1993, SPAR joined forces with other companies to establish the collection and recovery organisation ARA, which has become the country’s leading compliance and collection scheme.
“The entire SPAR group is an enthusiastic advocate for the circular economy.”
